The main program for Rebuilding Together is the Safe and Healthy Homes program. Our method of assistance focuses on addressing all of the issues related to the home including but not limited to safety, comfort, health, energy efficiency and independence. Our primary objective is to restore safe and sanitary living conditions through home repairs which have an immediate and long lasting impact. In addition, our Safe at Home Initiative provides us with the knowledge to address the quality of life issues faced by low income elderly and disabled. Our energy efficient retrofits allow the homeowners to save money on their electric and water bill and help conserve our precious environmental resources.
Although home repair is inherently green, Rebuilding Together Broward County needs your help in launching this new initiative, which will allow homeowners to save money on their electric and water bill and help preserve our environment. This initiative will focus on the following 6 Green Housing components;
Project Objective Design and Implement a Program to Benefit Hundreds of Low Income Homeowners Through 10 Basic Home Improvements that Will Reduce Fall and Injuries as well as Enhance Home Safety and Quality of Life. You can read more about it here.
Rebuilding Together’s Veterans Housing Initiative was created to meet the growing needs of veterans from past and present wars. The initiative serves to fill the gaps in housing modifications and repair services that retired and active service men and women struggle to meet. Working in partnership with corporate sponsors, Rebuilding Together’s Veterans Housing Initiative strives to provide safe and accessible housing for all low-income veterans.
The concept of the Corporate Team Building is unique to Rebuilding Together Broward County and involves the participation of larger employee teams in specific community improvement projects and events such as our Builders Olympiad and Family Festival. It is an excellent opportunity for a larger group of employees to work together at relatively unskilled tasks, while helping to strengthen and build the Broward community. Rebuilding Together strives to provide improvements that enhance the safety and comfort of the nonprofit facility. Major structural repairs are usually not possible. Examples of the types of repairs that are done include interior and exterior painting, minor electrical and plumbing work, door replacements, cabinet work, shelving, home modifications, weather-stripping and yard work.
