Alexandra Silva Labarr is a powerhouse of purpose, passion, and perseverance. She is the Founder and CEO of Xandra Marketing & PR, an international speaker, coach, and author of two impactful books — The Power of Networking and Show Up Scared. She comes from humbling beginnings, having lost her mother at just 13 years old and being raised by her grandmother. Aytia, originally born as Shelquandra Poitier in Miami, FL, faced early adversity. Raised by her father Shelton, a community rapper, and absent mother Sabrina, her childhood was marked by significant challenges. At the age of two, Shelquandra suffered second-degree burns while in her mother’s care, prompting hospitalization and a subsequent call to DCFS due to signs of abuse. This intervention led to Shelquandra being placed into foster care under the auspices of the Children’s Home Society.

Just before her third birthday, Shelquandra found herself in the care of Carol Tarpley, a retired chef from Rochester, NY, who was 57 years old at the time and had previously fostered six adult children. Despite hopes for stability, Shelquandra encountered abuse from Ms. Tarpley and her adult children soon after her arrival. By age six, Shelquandra’s behavior issues resulted in her expulsion from elementary school, exacerbated by diminishing communication with her social worker.

Shelquandra bravely disclosed the abuse to her teachers upon transitioning to a new school. As a result, she was placed into foster care for the second time, this instance marking a separation from her brother.

After spending a year in various placements, Shelquandra was later reunited with her mother, Ms. Tarpley, and her brother. Following this reunion, Shelquandra was formally adopted, and her name was changed to Aytia. During this period, she attended six different schools across Miami Gardens (Carol City) and Hialeah, FL.

Throughout these years, Aytia navigated significant challenges, including being prescribed psychotropic medications and regularly visiting a psychiatrist, despite being misdiagnosed with ADHD. Aytia was sexually, physically, and verbally abused. By the age of 13, Aytia found herself in foster care for the third time, this time permanently separated from her brother.

At the age of nineteen, Aytia underwent a transformative period in her life, rededicating herself to Christ. She achieved her GED and embarked on a college education while securing her own apartment and commencing employment. Since then, Aytia has made significant strides as a lobbyist over the past three years, playing a pivotal role in advancing legislative bills aimed at enhancing the child welfare system.

Her advocacy efforts have been extensive, collaborating closely with Florida’s Community-Based Care organizations, legislators, the President of the Senate, the Secretary of the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and the DCF ombudsman. Aytia has actively participated in key events such as Children’s Week at the Capitol and DCF Summits in Orlando, FL. Her leadership as Legislative Chair for a youth-led organization further underscored her commitment to national advocacy on child abuse issues.

Aytia’s influence extends beyond legislative arenas into community engagement, where she has partnered with prominent organizations and agencies including the Broward County School Board, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Her contributions to public awareness include speaking engagements on human trafficking indicators and collaboration with the Broward County Human Trafficking Coalition and the State Attorney’s Office. Her work has garnered media recognition in publications such as The Miami Herald and The Tampa Bay Times, and she has been honored with a proclamation from the City of Lauderhill.

Her international efforts have included consulting for city and country officials from West Park, Tamarac, Lauderhill, as well as the Republic of Congo, Haiti, Nigeria, Senegal, Gambia, and Algeria. Aytia has also provided guidance to boards, film directors, and production teams for movies, series, and documentaries, including writing and directing Public Service Announcements (PSAs) for the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition (BHTC).

Previously serving on the steering committee for the Broward Human Trafficking Collaborative Impact, Aytia has also served as a social worker specializing in survivor mentoring and life coaching with Citrus Mental Health Networks – Broward Chance Program and Ark of Freedom Alliance. Currently, she holds the role of Survivor Consultant at International Rescue Committee, continuing to broaden her professional experiences and impact.

Jada-Nykole Lowe is a Dillard High School and Broward College 2024 graduate who graduated with a GPA of 4.7, over 500 service hours, adobe and science certifications, and a member of five National Honor Society programs.

Jada-Nykole is a member of God’s Gift, Inc, Parkway Middle School’s mentorship program, and the National Achievers Society (NAS), both of which encourage academic and cultural excellence. She leads advocacy efforts for Broward’s Coalition Against Period Poverty, contributing to the passage of CS/HB 389 Menstrual Products in Schools, which provides free menstrual products to students in Florida.

Chosen as a member of the Congress of Future Physicians and Medical Leaders class of 2024, Jada-Nykole’s academic achievements and leadership potential have been recognized nationally. In her free time, she volunteers at Artis Senior Living Memory Home of Davie and participates in various community service activities. She was awarded the President’s Service Volunteer Recognition Award honoring her efforts for going above and beyond in the community.

Jada-Nykole plans to pursue a degree at the Nova Southeastern University in neurology and psychology with interests in psychiatry, mental health, experimental psychology, and biological development. She aims to work with organizations like the American Neurology Association or the International Brain Research Organization to make a positive impact on society. Mariana Russell is an accomplished utility professional. She has 25 plus years of experience in the field of Electric Distribution Design and Telecommunications Outside Plant engineer design for Fiber Optic Cable. She has designed, managed, and coordinated projects as well as supervised the construction, design review, relocation, permitting and easement phases of major Overhead and Underground projects for FPL and FPL FiberNet and NorthStar Communications.

Mariana is skilled in determining project requirements and scope of work for her clients.
She coordinates with the developer’s design team and FPL engineering during all phases of development and construction. She also facilitates the coordination with telecommunication providers for relocation of existing infrastructure. With her experience and expertise clients avoid the pitfalls and delays associated with dealing with large utilities. Stacey Miller has more than 20 years of association management and membership development experience. Kristene brings over three decades of proven leadership and strategic expertise to her role as Vice President at Lank Oil Company. Her journey began in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she cultivated a strong work ethic before moving to Florida to pursue higher education at The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale.

During her tenure at college, Kristene embarked on a part-time role at Diversified Oil Company, swiftly transitioning to the position of Office Manager upon graduation. The company continued to flourish and attracted the attention of industry titan Alan Goldberg, former Chairman of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, who later purchased the successful oil company. Kristene’s invaluable contributions led to her involvement with the BGCBC where she dedicated her time to pivotal events and volunteer work. As Diversified Oil underwent acquisition by Lank Oil Company, Kristene’s role became integral to the company’s trajectory, culminating in her appointment as Director of Sales and Marketing. Kristene specializes in catering to the construction, marine, generator, and fleet fueling sectors, providing a comprehensive range of products and services including fuel, lubricants, fuel testing, and fuel polishing. Currently holding the position of Vice President at Lank Oil Company, she distinguishes herself as the sole non-family member serving on their esteemed board of directors. Lank Oil acquired Anchor Petroleum 5 years ago, which Kristene was thrilled to be a part of and help flourish.

Throughout her career, Kristene has demonstrated a keen ability to foster collaborative relationships and ensure seamless transitions. This was exemplified during Lank Oil’s transition of its lubricant division to Flamingo Oil, where Kristene facilitated a harmonious partnership between the two entities.

Chasity Roker is a seventeen-year-old senior at Dillard High School. Her thirst for knowledge has propelled her to always strive for academic excellence. Education is her number one priority, and she has maintained status on the academic Honor Roll. As a proud member of the prestigious National Honor Society program, she demonstrates service, character, scholarship, and citizenship. Being a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church has helped her grow academically in her faith and as a person, maintaining moral standards.

At Dillard High, Chasity is actively involved in the Debate Team, Youth Beyond the Shield, and Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC). Through her passion for performing, she has embraced a fanatical interest in pageantry. Her focus on community collaboration has led her to a number of volunteer opportunities and community leadership roles. Serving as a member of the following community service programs, Delta G.E.M.S. (Growing & Empowering Myself Successfully), National Achievers Program (Urban League of Broward County), God’s Gift Inc., and Coalition Against Period Poverty (CAPP) has given her access to stakeholders to make a positive impact on her community.

Chasity is one of three Dillard students in Broward County who advocated for the Learning with Dignity Bill (SB334-HB/389) signed by Governor DeSantis on May 16, 2023. This bill will help alleviate period poverty, stigma, and help ensure that students have access to period products on school campuses at no cost. She is determined, resilient, yet vigorous, and currently sits on the Lauderhill Youth Council/Teen Leader Club and Youth Advisory Board for the City of West Park, advocating for students in Broward County.

Lynda V. Harris currently holds the position of President of Sunshine State Development of South Fla., Inc. where she is responsible for identifying, acquiring and assisting in developing multi-family housing projects after spending 7 years with REVA Development Corp. She is also the Vice President of The Henderson Financial Group, Inc. Her interest in real estate development began when she was 18 years old and was a tenant in a 20 unit building. After observing the landlord collecting rent from 20 households, she did the math and decided that’s what she wanted to do.

Lynda specializes in developments that addresses the “Missing Middle”, which consists of developments under 70 units. After noticing the absence of female developers, Lynda decided to do something about it. Knowing how difficult it was for her to get started, Lynda strategically identified female landowners that wanted to develop their properties. They formed an alliance and are currently developing various small scale projects.

Lynda has a Public/Private Partnership (P3) with the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency which will house seniors with a focus on housing for artists. Lynda is the owner and developer of various affordable housing projects. As a former Guardian Ad Litem, Lynda is passionate about young girls aging out of foster care and is currently developing a residential housing development for that vulnerable population.

When Young Rebuilders Mia Bella and Ava Nepola were little kids, they learned to give back by accompanying their parents, Justin and Jackie, on community service project adventures. They volunteered alongside their parents for everything from beach sweeps and school mural painting to food sorting and distribution. Volunteering was simply a normal family activity.

As they got older, Mia Bella and Ava continued to volunteer on their own. At 12, Ava completed a 24-hour service project at Feeding South Florida. Mia has volunteered at the Florida State House multiple times. They also continue to join their parents – with paint brushes and shovels in hand – helping to revitalize Rebuilding Together homes.

“Stephanie and I are so proud of Mia and Ava’s confidence, strength, determination and desire to give back to others,” said Justin, Mia Bella’s and Ava’s father.  “They have learned many of their best qualities by volunteering for amazing South Florida organizations like Rebuilding Together Broward.”

The family has been recognized for their efforts.  Mia Bella and Ava were awarded the Daily Points of Light Award, which celebrates the power of individuals to lead and lend support to causes they care about. The Nepola family was a top-five finalist for the Disney Points of Light Volunteer Family of the Year and were featured on Good Morning America.

Mia Bella and Ava, now 18 and 14, have learned the value of hard work, leadership and the importance of giving back through community service.  Mia Bella is a senior at Florida Virtual School, and Ava is a freshman at West Broward High.

Alexandra Torti is a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale. She has excelled in her endeavors inside and outside of school. While maintaining a high GPA, extracurricular activities such as Campus Ministry, multiple National Honor Societies, Youth Leadership Broward, and a part-time job, Alexandra found a passion in serving others. She has acquired over 825 service hours with various organizations across Florida and the world.

One of her most impactful achievements was her STAy Home initiative. After working with the missionary organization Youth With a Mission and the Homes of Hope program to build homes in the barrios of Dominican Republic for over 7 years, Alexandra experienced the insurmountable burden of poor living conditions on the needy. Alexandra took action by organizing her own international service project, STAy Home, in May of 2019.

A team composed of students, parents, and friends were assembled to build 2 homes in 2 days for 2 families in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. Alexandra raised $42,000, recruited 40 volunteers, organized travel, and lead the team on a volunteer experience of a lifetime and new start for two families. Alex intends to continue her service to others by building and repairing homes for the less fortunate in our community and around the world.

Professionally, Traci has been working for Miller Construction Company since 1993 and became a shareholder with 9 other team members in 2011. She now serves as the Sr. Vice President and oversees business development & marketing, community relations, and is the champion of company culture. Traci is part of the firm’s leadership committee and board of directors.

Traci lives in Fort Lauderdale with her husband Troy McHatton. They have raised 3 children, the youngest of whom is a junior at Appalachian State University.

Debbie Deioma Danto, MBA, LEED AP, CGC is the Co-Owner (with her husband Craig Danto) and Chief Operating Officer at Danto Builders.

She is responsible for the operations and business development of her company, and develops, implements and maintains standard operating procedures to ensure documentation, safety and quality control.

Debbie has over 25 years of experience in developing and operating businesses, and over 15 in the construction industry.

Debbie graduated from Ohio State University with her Bachelor of Science in business administration and MBA from Cleveland State University. Her career started with Pizza Hut and Arby’s, which then led into working in the manufacturing, engineering and construction industries.

Debbie is very active in the community and with Industry associations. She is a Trustee and Board member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, and on the the Healthcare, Permit and Oakland Park / Wilton Manors / Uptown (Incoming Chair for 2020) Councils. She is a board member for the Florida Design & Construction Professionals and Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, and member of AIA Fort Lauderdale and Riverwalk.

She and her husband are especially proud of their Big Bad BBQ Bash that has benefited Special Olympics Broward County for the last six years. They both have family members with Down Syndrome, so understand the importance of this cause. In 2019 they held it at Riverwalk’s Esplanade Park for the first time and had an estimated over 1200 people.

Danto Builders offers design, engineering and construction services for commercial, industrial and government projects, and has been completing projects in the South Florida area for over 35 years.

Somemore recent projects include the addition and major interior and exterior renovations at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport Administrative offices, Circle House Coffee, Grind Coffee Project, Complete Marine, Segafredo, MinuteMan Press, Tower Club, Holy Cross, Broward Health, Kindred Hospital, and City of Deerfield Kirk Cottrell Pavilion.

When not working and networking, Debbie enjoys spending time and traveling around the world with her husband Craig of 14 years, and spending time in Chagrin Falls, Ohio with her family. Their last trip was to China this past May. She loves animals, especially their four rescue dogs.

She also likes to run and work out at Orange Theory. She has done the Publix A1A half marathon a couple times and just completed the A1A full marathon for the first time on Jan. 26. (to be confirmed before the event but this is the plan).

Beth Azor has been in the Commercial Real Estate Industry since 1986, from 1998 to 2004 as President of Terranova, Florida’s largest 3rd party asset manager.

She founded Azor Advisory Services in 2004 to invest in her own properties and provide consulting and training to industry leaders such as Kimco Corporation, Cushman & Wakefield, Brixmor Properties, Equity One, The Shopping Center Group, Phillips Edison, and DLC Management Group.
Azor now owns and manages a $79,000,000 portfolio of commercial retail properties in southeast Florida.

She most recently wrote and published Don’t Say No For The Prospect: How I Went from a Sales Rookie to a Retail LeasingRockstar to a Shopping Center Owner with $79 Million in Assets and The Retail Leasing Playbook.

Ms. Azor was the Chairman of the ICSC Florida Conference and awarded Top Retail Broker by South Florida Business Journal, Superstar Broker by Real Estate Forum and Broker’s Favorite Broker by Commercial Property News. She was also awarded the Davie/Cooper City Chamber of Commerce 2015 Small Businessperson of the Year.

Ms. Azor attended Florida State University where she obtained her AA 1980 and subsequently her B.A. in English. She was Chairman of the Board for the FSU Real Estate Foundation, is a former Member of the FSU Executive Board of the Real Estate Program, and a member of the UMRED+U (University of Miami Real Estate Development & Urbanism) Advisory Board. Ms. Azor also represented FSU in Valencia, Spain for 3 summers, teaching Introduction to Real Estate and Professional Selling for the FSU Summer Abroad Program students.

She is past President and now sits on the Board of Directors of the HOPE Outreach center. She also co-founded 100+ Women Who Care of South Florida and currently serves as the Chair of the Broward County Chapter. Ms. Azor has two sons and resides in Davie, Florida.
